Sweet Success For Forest Feast

Forest Feast, one of Ireland’s leading snack companies, is celebrating recent success for two innovative new product launches in the Great Taste Awards 2010. Forest Feast Dark Chocolate Sour Cherries scooped a two gold star rating, awarded to food or drink described as ‘sublime’, by judges and one gold star went to Forest Feast Milk Chocolate Mango, which is deemed as ‘perfect’!

Organised by The Guild of Fine Food, the Great Taste Awards is the national, benchmark food awards employing the country’s most rigorous judging system, ensuring the fairest, most accurate and trusted results.

The 2010 Great Taste Awards has attracted a record number of entries. In total, 6021 food and drink products were blind-tasted, tested and discussed during two months of intense judging by 350 judges, comprising food writers, chefs, deli and farm shop owners, food producers and buyers.

The winning products select the finest Forest Feast dried fruits which are carefully hand dipped in luxurious Belgian chocolate, creating an indulgent fruit & chocolate fusion. The milk and dark chocolate used to coat the award- winning mango and sour cherries, is created from a unique blend of carefully roasted cocoa beans, 100% pure cocoa butter and natural bourbon vanilla to accentuate the delicious flavours.

Lorraine Hall, Sales & Marketing Director, Kestrel Foods comments: “Following close analysis of both the premium chocolate and dried fruit & nut sectors, coupled with current consumer desire for premium taste combinations, we have developed a delicious range of Belgian chocolate coated mini fruit packs. The finest dried fruits have been sourced from all corners of the globe and we have worked with the best chocolate connoisseurs to develop this unique, indulgent Forest Feast product. The fact that two of our lines have been endorsed with Great Taste Awards is testament to the quality and flavour of these lines.”
