Movers & Groovers... Bernard Matthews Farms Appoints New UK Managing Director

Bernard Matthews Farms has appointed a new UK Managing Director, Jeff Halliwell. With a career spanning more than 30 years in the food and fmcg industries, Halliwell joins Bernard Matthews Farms following a three-year period with the dairy co-operative, First Milk, where he was Managing Director of First Milk Cheese Company, the UK's largest cheese manufacturing business. In his new role with Bernard Matthews Farms, Halliwell will be responsible for the leadership of the UK business. He reports to Noel Bartram, who has temporarily held the post of UK Managing Director, alongside his role of Group Chief Executive, for the past 18 months. Proctor & Gamble has merged its brand development operations into its senior marketing team under global brand building officer Marc Pritchard. Pritchard was previously global marketing director and his title has changed to reflect his new additional responsibilities for design, consumer market and knowledge and direct and interactive marketing functions at the FMCG multinational. 
Andy Hornby the boss in charge of the failed HBOS bank has been appointed new chief executive of high street giant Alliance Boots. Mr Hornby, who worked for supermarket Asda before joining the Halifax in 1999, was originally approached to head Boots in 2003 but stayed with the bank. In his new role, he will report to the company's executive chairman Stefano Pessina, who took the group private with buy-out firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts for £11.1bn in 2007.
Kelkoo, Europe's leading shopping comparison site, has announced that Richard Stables has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer. Richard will be responsible for the profitability and day-to-day running of Kelkoo's operations and will report into the board of directors at Jamplant, the private equity firm which bought Kelkoo from Yahoo! in November 2008.
