Unilever, is said to be looking to shift its model of agency remuneration away from hourly rates and towards a performance-based system, echoing the previous moves of major advertisers like Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble. The agencies that could be impacted by these changes include BBH, DDB, JWT, Lowe and Ogilvy & Mather. Other areas that Unilever is said to be putting under scrutiny include whether or not it should be given more than 30 days to pay the expenses charged by its advertising partners.
Toblerone has tied up with Strictly Come Dancing star Alesha Dixon to launch a promotion around the singer's upcoming UK tour. The chocolate brand will be running a free prize draw with prizes including a chance to meet Dixon, tickets to shows, albums and photos. The campaign will launch next month and runs until the end of September.
Hoola Hoops is launching competition offering consumers the chance to win prizes by making films featuring the crisps as characters. The brand is asking consumers to make short films of no longer than two minutes featuring the crisps on the ends of their fingers. The Hoola Hoops and fingers can be 'dressed up' in order to differentiate them. Films can be uploaded via a microsite.The promotion will be backed up with a £1.5m TV campaign and will run on 50m packs. Prizes include a family holiday to Hollywood.
Ryvita has appointed Grey to handle its £3m ad account following a pitch. The agency won out in a pitch against Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest and Beattie McGuinness Bungay. The previous incumbent on the business was Mortimer Whittaker O'Sullivan. The pitch process was handled by Carol Welch, Jordans and Ryvita marketing director.
Food manufacturer General Mills could launch a wider assault on the "ethnic food" market in the UK if the £4m Wanchai Ferry oriental brand launch is a success. The manufacturer is aiming to achieve sales in excess of £8m within a year of the brand's launch.  Amanda Ursell TOTAL Greek Yoghurt has announced a new collaboration with leading nutritionist, journalist and TV presenter Amanda Ursell. The activity will focus on a new Two-Week Vitality Challenge, using TOTAL Greek Yoghurt, devised by Amanda Ursell to boost energy, wellbeing and vitality. The campaign, which will be launched on 28th May, showcases the naturalness and versatility of the brand. The launch will be supported with above and below-the-line activity including advertorials, PR, Radio, a live Q&A web session with Amanda Ursell and an online blog on www.totalgreekyoghurt.com from 20 volunteers trialling the plan.

A McCain oven chip advert showing a farmer conducting rain and sunshine over fields of growing potatoes has received a number of complaints by viewers who have deemed it "misleading". The TV advert, with a voice-over stating: "McCain Oven Chips are made with sunshine and rain, potatoes and sunflower oil. And nothing else. Its all good", received two complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
