 Three food manufacturing companies share prices have fallen. Alliance Boots has unveil a strong performance over Christmas, with UK like-for-like sales growth at its retail arm approaching 5%.

The Irish multi temperature distribution hub venture between Oakland International and Caffrey International continues to bear fruit, attracting interest from Lactalis Nestle who has now signed Oakland International to support their Southern Irish distribution business. The contract will see Oakland International move up to 750,000 cases of product over the course of 2010 from their Co. Meath depot.

Family run pie makers, The Topping Pie Company of Doncaster, has taken a big slice of the Christmas pie market with a massive 53% increase in sales for the Christmas trading period, selling more than 80,000 premium pies.  The company is also bucking the current trend with a 30 per cent increase in sales for the first trading weeks of 2010.
